Next Level Country

While developing the Next Level Country project, which will be located in Eyüp Sultan, Göktürk, the fastest developing and growing region of Istanbul, the necessity of a versatile research and design process was the first decision we accepted. While the location of the project on the Hasdal-Kemerburgaz road, which is the most important transportation axis of the Göktürk region, provides an important gain to the project, the interruption of the green braid that surrounds 3 sides due to the fact that the land on which it will sit has lost its green area status, imposes a responsibility on the project to continue this green texture. Along with this responsibility, the principle of functionality and the use of local building materials, by prioritizing data such as sun direction, active winds, in the architectural language that responds to the land and prefers to reuse these qualities without disturbing the basic characteristics such as the nature of the region, topography, type and location of vegetation, while respecting nature. The main approach of the project is to achieve a unique architectural appearance in the region within the framework of the design decisions supported by the project.

Based on our main approach, land guided the use of common and detached units and social areas, which are the components of the program. While this orientation is supported by various transportation axes horizontally and vertically, the fact that the units are in a common mesh with each other and the environment is ensured in a controlled manner by considering the units as modules and offering a flexible usage scheme from the unit to the whole.

When we go into the details of the project, the horizontal longitudinal settlement requirement brought by the land borders has been solved in a functional and aesthetic way thanks to the flexible usage scheme we mentioned. In this settlement, which stretches from the South West to the North East, commercial and office units, where common use is expected during the day, are placed in this area, since the South West of the land rests on the Hasdal-Kemerburgaz road.

In this non-intensive structuring, differentiation has been achieved by the unique use of a few materials on different surfaces, with different textures, combinations and measures, without making diversity in material selection.

In terms of architecture, Next Level Country differs from its peers with its modern design language, functionality and environmental approach unique to Istanbul Göktürk.
